Name: Jessie
Nickname: Jess, J
Pronunciation: Jess-E
Age: 2 years and 10 months
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Jessie is a Catahoula Leopard Dog. She stands to be 24'' tall and weighs about 61 pounds, gaining or losing some every year. Jessie's coat is a light grey with tan-orange legs. Her chest and neck are snowy white along with her left front paw. Her slick coat is spotted and dappled with large and small dark grey and black patches and spots. She has some larger patches around her haunches, shoulders, and back. Jessie has a white blaze that starts thin at her forehead but gradually gets wider as it reaches her nose. Her nose is marbled of the colors pale pink and black with a tinge of dark grey on the fur surrounding it. Her lower muzzle fur and cheeks are the same tan-orange as her legs along with a dot above each eye. Around her neck is a thick brown leather collar with a buckle that resembles a belt buckle. Jessie's eyes are a nice icy blue. Her body frame looks strong but agile with short wiry fur. Her legs are long and nimble, for agile running and her haunches and shoulders are very muscular. Her breed is good for hunting, running, and tracking but Jessie and her family are great with herding.
Personality:
Jessie is the laid-back friendly type. She loves company, a real pack gal. She is loyal to those she is very close to and will stick to them. Jessie will jump in to defend her friends though and that is usually the only time she'll argue or get into a fight other than the situation of another dog taking an object of her's like food or a toy. But, other than that Jessie's the go-with-the-flow kind of dog. She is a herding dog by personality so her prey-drive is high. She'll get the urge to keep everyone together and will chase after any small and fast moving critter. Jessie lived around nature so she isn't scared of snakes, bugs, or spiders. Jessie is pretty clever for a country dog. She uses her opponents advantage to get what she wants like for those high ego rascals who love to have girls adore them, she'll act stupid and play along until she gets close enough to succeed in her goal.
History:
Jessie was born on a large farm down by Saddle Creek. From the start Jessie, the oldest, took charge of her littermates and counted herself responsible of them which was a good promise that turned into a horrible mistake. While they were still young pups, Jessie took her sisters, Calli and June, and her brother, Sam, down to the grazing lands for the horses. They had the impression that they could handle herding them while their parents were off herding the sheep. Jessie started off but the horses just got spooked and were sent into a massive stampede. Jessie was able to help her brother and June get out of the grazing lands but when the dust cleared, they found the mottled small body of Calli lying in the trampled grass. Their parents arrived and punished the pups deeply, they grieved for their daughter greatly. The days went on and the pups grew stronger, training in the arts of herding. Jessie still wept for her lost sister. In an attempt to try to live her life, another life stopped. Jessie thought a nice day down at the creek might help so she led her siblings down. Time passed and their father ran down to fetch them, only to step in the wrong place. Past the creek were rocks and from them came a ferocious rattle. The sharp fangs sunk into their father's leg and he fell to the ground in pain. He passed and Sam, angry at Jessie, ran to get their mom, leaving Jessie and June to carry their father back. They arrived and Jessie apologized. The whole family lived there lives but as time continued the over plowing tore up the dirt and created mass piles of dust and the wind created horrible dust storms. The humans packed up everything and the day it was time to say goodbye Sam had a dirty plan. He told Jessie he would forgive her if she went down to the creek one last time and sang that beautiful song their mother sang to them in honor of their lost family's memories. Jessie did as told, telling Sam to stall encase the humans tried to leave but did he listen? Nope. They all left, most of them thinking Jessie was with them but they never returned. Jessie came back, heartbroken that she was all alone, everyone was gone. Jessie sat on the front porch, waiting for four days straight for someone to come. No one came back. Jessie had to face the fact that she was on her own so she left the farm, the creek, the house. She left everything behind and is now traveling to find someone.
