Lavender stands 21 inches tall at her withers, and weighs 46 pounds. She is a medium sized breed. Lavender is often mistaken for a small Golden Retriever, but she is indeed a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. This makes her more active, both physically and mentally. She is very athletic, well-muscled, compact, medium boned, balanced and powerful. Her chest is deep. Lavender is of moderate build—a lack of substance or a heavy build will not be found from her. Her legs are sturdy and solid to help run and swim with webbing at the paws. A very important feature is her head, clean cut and slightly wedge-shaped that gives her face a beautiful feature that resembles that of a fox and must never be blocky. Lavender's ears are triangular and set high and well back from the skull. Her tail is well feathered and is held jauntily when she is excited or moving. Her body is blanketed with long silky fur of the color golden red that might grow darker during times of stress. Even the lighter shades of golden red are deeply pigmented and rich in color. She had lighter featherings on the underside of her tail and body the often flow freely in the wind. Lavender has white paws, white brushing on the bottom of her tail and a white snips and a small patch on her chest that connect, making her neck and chin also white. Lavender's coat is a water-repellent double coat of medium length, softness, and a soft dense undercoat which allows her to run freely and swim in icy waters. Her fur sometimes has a slight wave on the back but, is usually otherwise straight. Her eyes are a deep dark brown that at most times can grow to be a dark amber.

History:
Lavender was born from a show dog family of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Her mother fell in love with a street dog and couldn't bear having pups for another dog. The family took a road trip across the country and had not heard of the terrible dust storms down by Saddle Creek which happened to be one of their stops. The family panicked when driving into one, especially Lavender's mother who was expecting puppies. In desperation, her mother escaped and fled into the town, which was now abandoned. There she had her pups and raised them to the age of 3 months until one strange day when the ground rumbled and a strange hoofed monster came into the town, pulling a bigger strange thing. It opened up and some weird animals that walked on two legs came and tried to scoop up the puppies and their mother, yelping in joy. Lavender's mother seemed excited to see these different creatures but, Lavender was scared so she ran. Into the prairie she fled until night fell. When Lavender arrived back there was no signs of her family. Alone and out there Lavender worked on her survival skills and to this day she roams the wilderness with the memory of her lost relatives in her mind.
