Molly sighed happily. She had just caught a big rabbit and a doe.Plus three squirrels she had caught and stored them in her cabin. She had recently found an abandoned hut at the Outskirts Ranch. She had claimed it as her own and had stored her kills in there.Molly had a full stomach and wouldn't be hungry for a while. So she decided to go wading in the river. The long journey to her favorite pond would be a wonderful one, ecspecially because she loved to walk in the woods.Molly got up from her laid down position. She started walking to the woods. As soon as she reached the foresty, wooded area that she'd always been comfortable and at home in,her mind, body, and spirit was instantly comforted. She closed her eyes. Finally, she reached the pond and eased herself into the water. But she wasn't alone.Another dog was there,a Heeler.Molly smiled and approached him."Hello,"she said. But suddenly her smile diminished."Are you friend or foe?" Grumbling to himself about not acting so gloomy, he plastered a cheerful grin on his friendly face before heading towards the pond that was within the bordering woods, elongated limbs carrying his lanky frame into the forest, darting so quickly that most other dogs would only see a blur of the Australian Koolie, his silken merle coat lifted gently in the caressing breeze, ivory, steel, chestnut, and blue-silver follicles mingling with one another to paint the canvas that is his well-kept hide. Finally, after minutes of endless sprinting, his roseate tongue hanging out of the side of his mouth with joyful ideas, the brute reached the crystalline source of marine blessings, and with a bark of triumph, he leapt into the body of liquid, padding around in the cool refreshment, muzzle occasionally craning down to lap and sate his ebbing thirst from the sun’s aureate rays beating down on him.
** His rigid lobes flicked around, sending droplets of the clear water to be sent in various directions, and that was when he heard someone else enter the area as well, and he expected that too, for this territory was quite the popular destination during spring and summer seasons. The boy’s vibrant emerald voids lifted to lay upon a Husky mix, who in turn spoke, coloratura chords sent into the air, to which he tilted his cranium in slight confusion, not very fluent in the American dialect of English, since they were known to use words that he and his fellow Aussies refrained from. He understood the first statement clearly, to which he grinned brightly, chirping back at her, “G’day, mate~” But the second inquiry had him floored to the ground, to which he let out a happy laugh as he said, “I never did understand how you Yanks speak, but I’ll try to answer what you’re askin’ me. I ain’t a friend, ‘cause I don’t even know you’re name, though if you want, we can be buddies, but I ain’t an enemy either, since I don’t want to hurt you.” Judging by his tone, anyone could tell he was being bluntly honest, for he never saw a point in lying, and as such, he didn’t mean any offense, if she found it when he spoke. Guessing that he should probably introduce himself, the Koolie shrugged and chimed, albeit a bit flirtatiously, “I’m Skylar, do I get to know the name of the pretty sheilah in front of me?”

Molly smiled. This dog had his pros and cons.He was definately Australian, possibly a Cattle Dog or Koolie. He was very cute, with flashy green eyes and a speckled, short red, white, and blue coat.He spoke with a rough accent that Molly liked. He was gruff, but honest, and clearly not a threat. At his answers, she said,"I didn't really mean it like that.I just wanted to know if you were a threat.Obviously you aren't,so I will introduce myself.I am Molly, and I am very pleased to meet you,Skylar."She paused.Skylar...It was a familiar name, one of her favorite names. She turned to Skylar."You have a very nice name. It's one of my favorites. And while I'm here,I might as well tell you why I came to the General Store.I was just wandering around here looking to see if I could find any food or something interesting and here you are!"She smiled. For some reason this rugged, gruff male seemed to be easy to talk to.Molly was warming up to him quickly, but she realized why she talked to him so openly. They were alike.Molly could be gruff and wary, not one to make friends too easy. This Skylar was interesting, and he made her somehow open herself up.She looked down at her feet, suddenly ambarassed and unsure of herself. His erect ears swiftly skimmed onward so they appeared like broad triangles atop his skull, and his ear drums stroked the notes out of the lady’s coloratura chords, scanning over her vocabulary to find any important information pertaining to their current topic of introductions, and he let out a spicy chuckle at her first flurry of words, nodding his head to show his understanding, for it was like this for him with nearly all dogs, what they said went in one lobe and out the other with the Aussie, for he was only able to recognize certain forms of English, meaning that of his island country, not the slandered version of America, but in truth, it wasn’t all that different, other than the occasional slip-up here and there from the ex-cattle herder. His plumed tail wagged like a flag behind him, and he hopped back a few steps out of the sheer energy emitting from his aura, for he was used to springing around all day, not sitting around waiting for the day to pass by like most animals seemed to do nowadays, wasting away their lives searching for the one they would spend the rest of their lives with, which was why Skylar was a player, sleep with one girl today, move on to the next tomorrow, for that would leave no room for anyone to break his heart like one special maiden had done before, turning him into who he was today, same with Desmond, the poor bloke didn’t deserve that, but unlike the Australian Koolie, the Akita/Siberian Husky mix just pented it all up on the inside, the living statue that he was, all serious and never the one to goof off when around other beings that weren’t close to them, which was kind of understandable, for many were not able to be trusted, they were liars and dishonest creatures. Snapping out of the trance he was in, the boy blinked his bright emerald irises a few times before letting out an accented laugh and bolting around the Husky mix a couple of times, chirping out, “Alrighty then, nice to meet ya, Miss Molly~ And thank ya for that, I like your name too!” His gruff slip was gone now, for it was usually only when he was confronted with a stranger, and after learning their title, he warmed up, and was back to the friendly, outgoing foreigner that he was, nipping at her cheeks and back, letting out some barks of joy, before beckoning for her to follow him back towards the general store, for he knew the perfect place to find some food for them to chow down on.

Molly giggled happilly, yet she was confused. Mix emotions were welling up inside her, but she knew she couldn't show those emotions, not yet, not until she was very familiar with this dog. The only dog she had ever shown her emotions to was Quill, the big black Newfoundland, until he left. Molly had never seen him again after that wonderful day at the lake. This male had the same exhileration as Quill did. He was complicated, confusing, but for some reason, Molly was drawn to him. His eyes flickered and played and danced, they never ceased to reveal what he was thinking and feeling, and he made it so easy to express emotions, so that Molly wished she could reveal her emotions to this happy, mysterious stranger, but that would be against her father's wishes, and ever since he died, Molly had vowed to never break the promises she had made him, and this was one of those promises. Skylar seemed to be mystifying, but Molly was glad he wasn't one of those troglodytic bachelors who felt so sorry for themselves. She knew only a scant bit about him; for she only knew his name. Then why did she have a funny feeling of familiarity and recognition of Skylar. He reminded her of someone, though she had never met another Skylar besides him. Finally Molly broke out of her brain's daft demoralization and confusion, and ambled slowly after him as he trotted towards the general store. Suddenly she turned to Skylar. "So, Skylar, tell me more about you. Where were you born in Australia? Do you have any family left? Where do you live?" Molly paused. "And where are we going and why?" Molly felt like she was in a strange, starstruck trance. How could she get out of it? [/scrolly] |

His jaws unhinged in a yawn, to which he then shook his cranium with a bright grin, protracted lobes slapping against one another as he stared at the pretty specimen with his vibrantly-hued verdant optics, and she was rather lucky at the moment, for today, he wasn’t in the mood for sleeping with a dame, and instead longing for a nice conversation with any friend that he could make on this celestial cycle. The Husky mix appeared to be in a deep pondering state, thus he kept silent despite his usual babbling self, circling once to snap at his tail, keeping himself entertained as she mulled over whatever she had to, for as a flirtatious gentleman, he wasn’t the one to rudely interrupt others.
** He finally made it to the establishment of where they were near, the general store, and he let out a bark as he nudged the door open, hopping inside without a single care in the world, and afterwards, he scoped the room, to make sure that nothing was here to endanger them, and other than the occasional stranger that had come for the same reason as the duo did, no one was really lingering around these parts, which sort of made the extroverted Australian Koolie sad, for he adored to be surrounded by his peers. His sensitive nares brought him to an aged wooden barrel, to which he stood on his hind legs and began to rummage through it, using his maw as a spoon of sorts to part away the undesirable matter such as cloths, and find the true treasure, such as bread and apples, basic staples of a meal. Coloratura notes rung through the once silent air, and he lifted his cranium up from where it had been rummaging around in, a banana peel hanging off of the tip, to which he tossed it off with a snort, only to then pay heed to what she was saying to the brute, and with a chuckle at her interrogation of sorts, he chose to begin responding to this intriguing American, tenor tones heard as, “Well, I was born in Sydney, the cap you know, was a cattle mutt, born from a line of ‘em. Yeah, I probably do have family left, but I don’t wanna know what happened to them, they could be wallowin’ in a pit of lava for all I care.” His brows furrowed at that, oh how he despised his kin, for they were such despicable beasts, always sending him on the most dangerous rounds, and anytime he was injured, they didn’t even give him a second glance, all the attention was on his siblings, but he never went into more information than that with anyone, other than Desmond, he just gave other canines a basic overview. With a final yip as he went back to searching, he finished up answering the queries as he mumbled out, “I stay around with Desmond, we’ve sorta made our own family pack with two ladies, Kayran and Valkyrie, we just wander around. Hm? Oh, I don’t know, I guess we find somethin’ to eat, and then we just go with where the wind sends us~”

There was a secret he wasn't telling her, something buried deep down, something he never shared with anyone, but who was Molly to ask what that secret was? For she had just met the strange Australian brute. He said he lived in Sidney. He obviously didn't like his family. Or at least if he did, he sure didn't act like it. But who was his family? Then as Skyler said a dog's name; Desmond, and the femme thought she recognized that name. A Siberian Husky named Seraii seemed to like him. Molly turned to Skyler. He was quite perplexing, as he looked for any food, and he was obviously a smooth talker, yet he was not the one to waste words. He said what needed to be said, answered the questions asked, but he still remained with sort of a low profile, because he answered rather simply, without much detail at all. But he had said what Molly wanted to know, so the Border Collie/Siberian Husky/Collie mix didn't mind. [/scrolly] |

The girl did not speak after his little excerpt of knowledge, but he didn’t mind, he was known to blabber a lot of nonsense, so he just whistled and starting chatting with himself as a way to fill in the silence that made him feel uncomfortable, “So much food everywhere, but what to eat? All those human beans left behind were disgustin' 'nanners.” Oh yes, the male was known not to say ‘beings’ like most dogs did, he called the species that domesticated his breed ‘beans’ for they were smooth and smelly just like the consumable object. With a yip of excitement the kind and overtly energetic Koolie hopped towards a shelf filled with packs of jerky, something that didn’t get rotten as easily as the other types of meals here, to which he stood on his lean hind legs, perked auditory reciprocals at attention as he focused on snapping at the bags to send them spiraling to the wooden floor.
** He plopped back down on to the ground with a thud of triumph, picking up the sealed packages with his elongated jaws, bringing them back to his companion, placing one next to her, and one for himself, lying down on to his svelte abdomen, tearing off of the top, then sticking his maw into the savory smelling container, threading through the plastic until he reached the bottom where the dried meat was, roseate tongue reaching out to scoop up the shredded pieces, snapping and then swallowing with his cheerfully glowing verdant irises, the only emotion shown in them being pure glee, and many other animals thought he was crazy for always being so delightful, but he ignored them, for it was better than influencing others to be moody, and that was why he didn’t take most things personally, tossing disputes to the side as if they never happened, but what most didn’t know was that their words did remain sealed away in his heart, for him to feel pain over them when in privacy, or around his best friend, Desmond, who was actually a better brother to him than his biological siblings, having repeatedly risked his life to save Skylar’s own, which was why the Koolie cared for him during his sickly months of the winter and early spring. Finished with the snack, he licked his chops, tongue swiping over his lips to cleanse them of any venison, and he then chirped with a beam, “I’m feelin’ an adventure comin’ up, what do ya think?”

"Oh, an adventure, eh? That would be wonderful." Molly found herself really liking this adventure business. Molly loved hunting and fishing and playing. Molly rummaged in the stuff one more time, finally selecting a large ham. She tried to shred it with her claws for both of them, because she was super hungry, and she wanted something to eat, plus she was sure that Skyler was hungry too. The black and white femme knew that males ate more than females. And of she was starved, imagine how hungry he was! "Here. You must be hungry, so eat this," she said, handing him a large half of the ham, bone and all. She started to chew on her own half of the ham, working on the meat first, and then eating the bone. He shook his cranium just thinking about the wood sticking into the contours of his skull, letting out a friendly chuckle, about to stand on his stilt-like limbs when the pretty maiden brought to him half of a quite savory looking ham, murmuring something to him before she went to go devour her own half, and he blinked his emerald voids in surprise at such a kindness, before chirping out, “Why, thank ya, sheilah~” He dipped his maw down to lick at the caramelized flesh of his new chunk of supper, roseate tongue gliding over the slightly bumpy skin, and he wondered how he hadn’t come across this when he had been searching through the food, but he guessed girls always did have a better intuition as to finding a meal, for they did have the instincts, because as possible mothers, they had to be able to scrounge up something to eat for their babies.
** Without further ado, the brute sunk his glossy dentary into the meat, tearing off chunks and swallowing with joy, these large portions filling him with warmth, rugged paws moving up to hold down on to the mass so it wouldn’t roll away, and after nearly half an hour of just masticating all of the sinew, the Aussie finished up his banquet, leaving behind only the ashen bone, and he let out a grunt of content, rolling on to his side, digesting the nutrition, boiling in the acid of his stomach’s chamber, and after a few more minutes of just lying there, he took the marrow and chewed on the solid substance, which was sort of like a floss for his teeth, itching the unreachable spots on his gums, and his lids veiled over his visory organs in pleasure, though only half-way so he could keep an eye on Molly, just in case she choked or something, for he didn’t want his new friend to asphyxiate without him knowing, especially after she had graced him with benevolence that was a nice change from the usual coy replies of flirty vixens. He stretched before standing up once the Husky mix had completed her own snack, to which he then chimed out in his thick Oceanic accent, “Now, I was thinkin’ we should head to the north, ya know, where we can find some snakes~ Those buggers are really tasty, even though they don’t look like it. Ya ready?”

"Yeah Skyler! Let's go find a snake! It doesn't sound... well, the most appetizing thing to eat, your right, but at least it's something, and I'm always up for an adventure!" Molly smiled and crouched the front half of her body down, with her back half perched up, in a position of playfullness, trying to entice Skyler to play. "So let's go!" Molly ran ahead. He had said that there was snakes up north, so why not go ahead and try to catch one? They were south, so if she just went straight, she could go north. She bounded off in the right direction. I wonder what snakes smell like?, she thought. I wonder what they taste like, too. He must be kind of weird to like snakes. But then again, I have never tried the meat of a snake, so why judge them before I try them? The border collie mix bounded off once again in the north direction, this time without pausing, since she was no longer uncertain about the meal she would be hunting. She glanced back to see if Skyler was coming. She thought she heard him. But nevertheless, she went on until she smelled something weird, like what she had imagined a snake to smell like. Had she arrived? [/scrolly] |

The Husky mix stood up, her ebony hide thick but now thinning down because of the new season, much like his own, to which his roseate tongue lolled out of his mouth with entertainment, glad that she wasn’t afraid of trying something new, that was an admirable trait in a femme, for most would sneer at him when he talked about how yummy snakes were, so prissy to even touch a rat, it was pathetic, and he hated it, his most preferred vixens were those that took what was given to them and didn’t complain, for not everyone had the luxury of getting their meals served to them on a silver platter like those spoiled princesses were, but really, he didn’t care much about the feelings and personalities of dames anymore, he just slept with them and moved on, that was the process of life, and he enjoyed it that way, nothing to care about, like them dragging him down with their wants of commitment.
** He rose to his lanky limbs, like the sticks they were, and let out an accented howl of adventure before raving after her, long ears slanting against his skull as he sped up like a bullet, tips graving the curve of his cranium, and oh how he adored the rush of the adrenaline, it was his drug, and he could never get enough, he would always crave more, the feeling of being in danger, or not knowing where he was headed, like he could be shot down at any moment by a rattler or a roaming human. He took a sharp detour, nudging Molly along the way to let her know that they had to make a little turn so that they didn’t head straight for the mountains, where the reptiles avoided, and instead made his travel over to the dead lands, where it was barren and similar to a desert, which was like his home of Australia, where so many species of snakes resode, thus he was an expert at tracking them down. Once he reached the borders, Skylar slowed down to a reasonable walk, athletic sinew sliding against each other to spring him forward, and he noticed that the girl was sniffing the ground, and appeared to have found the tracks of one of their targets, to which he let out a bark of triumph, nodding at her to show that he was proud, himself moving closer so that he could make sure she didn’t step on any of the sneaky prey.

This was probably the best time she had ever had with another dog in her whole entire life, but then, most dogs ignored her, and so she didn't have the best social skills, and being fairly timid, she didn't usually go to other dogs. If they came to her, great, and she would easily fall into a pleasant friendship with a normal, honest dog. But this brute was different, for Molly felt like he actually appreciated her company, and she appreciated his company. It wasn't often that the black and white femme found someone she liked, and this seemed to be just too good to be true. He was even helping her find a good place to hunt! Here was a truly a kind and adventerous male. Molly would enjoy their time together for as long as she could; for it had been quite a while that Molly had had someone to hang out with, and she had been getting quite lonely these days. And, to Molly's surprise, she had been feeling actually envious of the females who had been fortunate enough to have pups. But the fae did not care for any personal relationships just yet. She didn't feel she was ready, and also she hadn't found anyone who she liked or felt she could spend her life with. [/scrolly] |

His hip bumped into that of Molly’s playfully, 100-kilowatt grin plastered on his rubbery lips, to which he nipped her erect ears a bit, tugging on the flesh teasingly before he retracted, winking at her flirtatiously as was his nature, and while he really didn’t mean anything by it, it had still been done, for that was how he was for some reason, not able to control his coy behavior when around attractive ladies, no matter of their age, breed, stature or personality, when it came to the chicks he slept with, all that mattered was that they were dumb enough not to be able to track him down afterwards. Though, he wanted to be friends with this Husky mix, and as such, appreciated the fact that she was smart enough to know the difference between left and right, and really didn’t have the pull to truly seduce her, for all he wanted was a companionship with one dame, since he had to prove to himself that he wasn’t addicted.
** Right as he had been pondering over such things, a corn-scaled reptile slithered out from the dried brush, letting out a hiss as it coiled menacingly right in front of him, causing him to yelp out with excitement, “Crikey! Watch out, sheilah, this one’s feisty!” Thus began his elegant tango with the snake as it lunged at his open stilt-like limbs, to which he dodged with expertise, though at one point it’s fangs grazed his skin, making jolt a bit more, but it didn’t even split the barrier, so he wasn’t worried, continuing to mess around with his eventual prey until he used the grace of his cattle-dog days to sashay his way behind the target, slamming a paw down on to its back, where his jaws quickly snapped out to latch on to the skull, crushing it without hesitation, mercy in his emerald pools for the animal, so his way of killing it was the least painful and the quickest, thus holding the elongated prize in his maw, he tossed it at the vixen’s feet, grinning as he laid down with a pant, using his head to bump it closer as he motioned for her to try it, since he already knew what it tasted like, and wanted his friend to be able to be a witness to such a new source of food, and perhaps after this he could teach her the ways of catching the snakes, so that she would pass this knowledge on to others if she so desired.

She loved hunting here, she loved not being alone! This was the best day that the husky mix had ever had, and that was saying a lot, considering the fact that she really had nothing to look forward to, and she hoped that they could do this again. When Skyler nipped her ear, she nipped back, lightly biting the tip of his tail, and then returning his little shove as she gently rammed her body into his, being just as playful as he obviously felt, and she had absolutely no notion that he could possibly be flirting with her. Molly walked happily alongside Skyler for a while, but suddenly she heard a loud hissing sound. She yelped when she saw a snake right beside her foreleg, possibly ready to strike. "SKYLER!" Her voice was loud and screechy. Molly did not know what happened until suddenly the snake was dead; Skyler had killed it. She breathed a sigh of relief, and she was quite embarassed at her squeaky outburst. When he nudged the food towards her, she nodded, and got the message. Molly clawed at the snake, trying to remove its skin, until finally she succeeded; all that could be seen was the snake's entrails and flesh. The husky mix started eating right away. The meat was good, and it tasted like squirrel, which Molly was used to, only it was much better. "This is great," she said enthusiastically. Suddenly she looked straight into his bright emerald orbs. "Thank you." [/scrolly] |
