A heap of leaves heaved in and out, making whimpering noises. It sobbed and sobbed. But suddenly the heap of leaves bolted up and then parted; under it lay a black and white Boston Terrier puppy. His name was Scooter. Scooter had come to Saddle Creek after he lost his family, his shelter, his food... he had lost everything. Even his friends were gone. He was all alone in the world, and nothing to a poor little lost puppy was worse than that. He had intentionally come to Saddle Creek, but now... when he had lost everything... when there was no one to love... and when he had no idea where to go... he decided he would never have come here. As Scooter sobbed his poor little heart out, there was nothing that could console him; usually thinking about his father helped, but this time not even that helped him any at all. Finally the little puppy rose to his feet. His heart was broken, and he had absolutely no will to live. But he thought that, if he did not live, then he would never find a friend or a family, which could be possibly to find if he did live. The tiny Boston Terrier went off to find some food.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,443,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s413/SilentCallings/AllisonTable2Middle-2.png]** The thin, willowy frame of the domino-hued dame was evident against the silvery moonlight, and despite it being the heated summer, the nights were rather chilly, especially for a short-furred vixen such as herself, who didn’t have a thick pelage to keep herself warm, though none of her siblings nor her parents did, so to make up for that, they all snuggled in one giant pack, flopped over one another, and with all of this flesh pressing against one another, it sustained their body temperatures, and even made the most frigid of hours bearable, particularly with the loving snuggles each one gave to their kin, it was a pleasure to be in, to be with your relatives, and Allie knew she was lucky to have such a closely bonded family, for she knew there were some youths out there who didn’t even have neither a sire nor a dam, and were left to fend for themselves, and most died within a few weeks, for they couldn’t hunt and couldn’t defend their vulnerable bodies against lurking predators, and with a sigh of sorrow, the femme let out a whimper of sadness for all those poor souls out there, wishing she could cuddle with them and help make it all better. She was trotting along the extensive road, off to wander around Saddle Creek for a few days before heading back to her abode, for her parents believed it was time they started getting weaned off of being taken care of, and learned how to survive.
** Her paws made the barest of sounds against the cakey soil, so it was more like a phantom ghosting across the path rather than an actual breathing canine, though she did sneeze once in a while from the particles of dust rising from where she disturbed the dirt, and landing on her sensitive nares, to which she shook her physique, yawning abruptly, only to let out a muffled yelp of surprise when she heard some leaves move and a myriad of sobs coming from nowhere. Once Allison managed to calm her heart rate down, she slowly walked over to the offending sound, only to see in the darkness the minuscule body of a Boston Terrier child, to which she craned her muzzle down and bumped it’s little build with worry evident in her molten gaze, hoping that it wasn’t dead, though when she saw its nose sniffle, she smiled gently and seated herself upon her haunches. The Presa Canario/Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix tilted her skull in an endearing way before whispering out so she wouldn’t frighten the pup that much, “Hello there, are you alright?” She stared at him for a while longer before laying down on to her abdomen, not wanting to threaten the youth with her structure, and instead lingered around, wanting to see what was wrong with the small tyke, to figure out if she were able to assist him or not, for she did have a soft spot for little ones, despite only being a year old herself.

Scooter whined and squeaked for a while, but finally he attempted to stop crying, for he knew he had to eat or drink something. If he stayed here he would die. He was determined not to die. But as a domino colored fae, who looked very friendly, not to mention pretty, he felt like maybe he could make a friend out of this kind dog. She nudged him, sort of nuzzled him, and although he didn't even know her, he liked her a lot already. She asked him if he was okay. He turned pleading brown eyes up at her. His smushed in, black Boston Terrier nose was still sniveling and sniffing, although not as loud as before. "No ma'am, I thank you so very much for your kindness, but no, I's not 'kay, I dunno how ta hunt, or fish, much less find food or shelter. But I be along just fine, so long as someone teach me. I's at least not dead." Scooter was making a point; although he did NOT want help, should she want to help him. He didn't want anyone to go out of their way to protect or help him, and so he wishe dhe could take the words he had blurted out. He just couldn't keep it together anymore.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,443,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s413/SilentCallings/AllisonTable2Middle-2.png]** The femme was relaxing on her belly on this cool ground, a nice change from the slightly humid atmosphere, considering it was summer, though even during this month it was a bit chilly a night, for this was the state of Colorado, and that was to be expected, nearly all cycles of the year were frigid, depending on the hour of the diurnal pass. Her lithe tassel swayed from side to side to show that she was a friendly being, for this stranger was just a pup, and that meant almost one hundred percent that he was of no threat, unless someone were using him as a decoy to attract dames and then murder them on the spot by playing around with bait, but she doubted anyone really did that anymore, there was no such thing as planning nowadays. The little boy was quite adorable, with that petite frame of his, dappled markings, it made her want to squeal and cuddle him without stopping, though she didn’t want to get in his personal space just yet, there was still getting to know the basics about him, such as if he had a family that she would have to bring him back to, and most importantly, the child’s title. Allison’s jaws unhinged in a yawn, for she was a bit sleepy, this being her usual routine to go to bed, for she had been searching for some shelter to do so in when she had encountered the pup, which threw her off task.
** Her folded audits swiftly tilted forward when the Boston Terrier began to spout out what had happened when she inquired him to such, sniffles ringing through those broken tones, to which the girl’s molten gaze softened, and she dipped her maw forward to touch his cheek with sympathy. The male told her that he couldn’t hunt nor really do anything to survive, and judging by his size, it made total sense, to which she began to mull over anything that she could do to help him with this predicament, though she bit her lip in worry when the only one that would work would be to take him in, but she was only a year old herself, barely able to take care of herself, to which she wondered if she could do it, save the kid. The Presa Canario/Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix then decided this would show her parents and her siblings that she was old enough now, that she would be able to live on her own, plus her procreators were starting to send their litter on their own ways, telling them to visit when they liked, but Allie knew that meant that they wanted the siblings to go ahead and move on from being so dependent. Hence why the maiden only visited once a week now, to make sure her sire didn’t go crazy from not seeing his daughter, and with a sigh of finalization, the svelte vixen stated softly, in her whisper of a voice, “If you would like, you could stay with me, I’m Allison.”

He managed to whimper before slumping over in the grass at the side of the road. What will happen to me, he thought. Am I going to die? Then everything went white. Scooter felt nothingness, heard nothingness, saw nothingness, smelled nothingness. He couldn't feel his body, his legs, his head, his tail, his ears, they were all gone. Or were they? Was he in heaven?
Suddenly his vision blurred and he regained consciousness, but he stayed asleep, still slumped over in the grass. He didn't think, wake up, didn't bother to do anything at all that was perfectly normal for a sane dog. But at the moment, since he was unconscious, he thought he was insane. He whined, and suddenly woke up, startled, as he had had a dream, a quick glimpse, that he was falling and falling. His memory, body, and senses came back, although he was shaking all over. His eyes once again fell upon the young dame before him. Allison, she said her name was. What a pretty name, it reminded him of his mother, Althena. Similar, it gave him comfort.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,443,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s413/SilentCallings/AllisonTable2Middle-2.png]** The girl let out a gasp of surprise when she saw the pup began to slip into the holds of unconsciousness, to which she didn't know what to do, since she was only a yearling, and didn't have much experience in the world, such as how to care for a child, and her brows furrowed, biting down on her lip as she tossed around ideas in her mind, not able to settle down on one, at least until she remembered how her mommy used to warm them up in this chilly weather by cuddling up with them, despite their large statures compared to her own short one. Thus the femme trotted a few steps forward, lying down on to her svelte abdomen, curling up around the child, nuzzling the side of his head, oh how small he was, she was afraid she was going to crush him, which was the thought most had of her, so it was saying something for the girl to be scared of harming the little one because of her own meager weight, her roseate tongue slipping out of her maw to graze over the top of his head, ruffling the short fur found there, making it stand up, only for her to flatten it back down, but she was using the moist organ to stimulate his muscles with heat, for she didn't want the adorable creature to die of hypothermia, right after she had just met him, it would make her feel guilty, as if it were her fault, which it possibly would be.
** Though it was as if the angels took pity on her, and the Boston Terrier awoke once more, his large chocolate voids staring up at him, to which she let out a giggle of relief, nuzzling his cheek with such motherly affection, from some area of her mind she didn't even know she had, and that was when her instincts began to take place as she told him her name, then grabbing his scruff gently, standing up on her stilt-like limbs, striding forward yards upon yards, a few minutes passing by until she saw the empty trunk of a tree, which would make due for shelter tonight, squeezing her thin frame through the entrance and placing Scooter to the side as she nudged around some dry leaves, then placing the bi-colored dog there, taking her position by him so that he could absorb the domino-hued maiden’s essence, like a furnace for the child. “Good night, Scoots.” She chirped out softly to the baby, already having given him a nickname for her own use as a manner of bonding closer with him, and she knew she was going to wake up early tomorrow morning so she could go practice her hunting skills that Elroy had taught her to bring back some breakfast for the little one that she was taking in as her own, and it was nice to not be completely alone anymore, for even though he couldn't talk as intensely as an adult, he still gave her the happiness of chatting.

OOC: I'm too lazy to drag out Scoo's table. XD
Scooter could not feel anything around him, but his mind, previously black, suddenly lightened up into a mass of milky, muddy gray brown, and that mass rippled like a river, but sounds erupted into his mind, whispers. "Scooter, Scooter, Scooter," one voice whispered. "If only she were here, she would help," another said. The rest were inaudible. Suddenly his eyelids fluttered open, and his glistening chocolate eyes peered up at the beautiful domino colored Allison. Scooter felt her taking him around, the ground swam under his face, but finally he felt himself being thrust into the trunk of a tree. He could feel her warm body against him, she was here, he was safe. Scooter suddenly felt bold, and he turned his head up. "Allison," he said, loving the sound of her name as he said it, "do you... love me?" Though he had only just met her, he couldn't help but ask. If she did love him, he thought, she would be the perfect mother. He worked up the courage to say one more thing. "I love you, and I hope you can be my mommy."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,510,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2lxfoyu.png] ** In the throngs of the morning, bright golden rays splayed over the girl’s dainty features as they scrunched up, the short fur presenting the ripples there, her lithe tassel thumping against the ground as she sniffed the pup beside her, licking his cheek softly, as to not stir from his sleep, and carefully stepping over his limp body. As his new guardian, she might as well get some breakfast for the both of them thus trying to remember all the skills engraved within the folds of her memory by the Pit Bull mix she had found a kind friendship in. Floppy lobes perked forward as she took her time to hear the rustle of some grass, to which Allison lowered her belly until it barely skimmed over the moist soil from last night’s rain, which had arrived right after she and her companion had found shelter in that tree stump, which was a lucky factor, lest they be drenched in liquid that would lead them to becoming sick, and in the life of a stray, that meant almost instant death unless you had another capable adult to care for you, and she would never want to impose on anyone, so that was what always caused a problem with the lady. Her ebony upon ivory pelage was glittering beneath the sun, barely giving her away now that she knew to hide in the long tendrils of wheat, her chocolate pools narrowing in on some rabbits, and within seconds, she had sprinted forward and attacked both before they escaped, crimson blood staining her muzzle.
** Roseate tongue swiped over her chops to clean the mess that she had made, letting out a giggle before nudging the carcasses sweetly in apology to their now passed on souls, still respectful, for she appreciated their presence on the earth, since they had provided a meal for both herself and the kid she was looking over, after all, she didn't have the heart to dump him off in a corner, he had no one else, even though she could barely take care of herself. Allie thus carried the two bunnies in her jaws, which were stretched by the fluffy masses of prey, elongated limbs carrying her through the cold snow, which made her shiver and what-not, her coat not at all thick, so it provided no blockage against the weather, practically useless other than providing a fine layer from her skin so she didn't appear naked. It was also rather pretty, showing her mixed heritage, so that was probably another good reason, and within minutes the Presa Canario/Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix had arrived back at the area in which she hid the Boston Terrier, entering the den and placing one of the corpses by him, only to then feel him wake up a while later, spewing out the words that startled her, for they were quite unexpected, but at his added statement, she tilted her head with a soft smile, heart warm with adoration as she licked the top of his cranium, murmuring out, “Of course. After this, we can go search for some water, okay?”

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s413/SilentCallings/ScooterTableForVranMiddle.png] Blinking, his long black lashes flicking in the air, making no sound, unlike bird's wings swiftly tucking backwards to stop the flight path as the bird, owner of the wings, dropped from the sky, and then quickly Scooter's eyelids flicked back up, so amazingly quick, just like all dog's eyes, and the small black and white puppy was always fascinated in this simple, unconscious procedure. There were so many questions that threatened to pop up into his mind out of thin air, like why does our brain obey the commands our body sends it, like walking, running, jumping. Those questions always nagged his mind, over and over again they popped up at various times, and he ignored them usually since he had no one to talk to, and now that he had Allison, he was going to ask her those questions whenever they popped once again back into his mind. Scooter looked at Allison. She was back. When she dropped her kills at his side, he took one rabbit and began to gnaw. Blood and flesh, the tender flesh of the delectable rabbit under his chin, reached his taste buds, filling his stomach. When he was done with the rabbit he carried all the bones, except for one, to his hole in the tree, and buried them in the leaves. Scooter wanted to save the one bone for the road. Though the rabbit bones would be small to an adult dog, they were perfect for a small puppy. The Boston Terrier returned to Allison. He looked up at her. "When I look into your eyes, you remind me of an angel," he said, his face lighting up with a smile.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,510,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2lxfoyu.png] ** As Scooter consumed the raw meat of his own meal, the girl did the same with her’s, ivory teeth clamping down on the hide of the creature, tearing away the cinnamon fur and tossing it to the side, something that could have been of use to them yesterday, on a cold winter night, a blanket of insulation. Though the past was the past, and she was now living in today, so that meant it was a pity that it had to go to waste, yet the raw sinew would not, especially as she placed her little paws on its head so that she could have a better grip as she sunk her jaws deeper into the carcass, tugging out a sliver of sustenance, the tang of blood touching upon her taste buds. The same life liquid stained the alabaster follicles of fur around her snout, giving her a more menacing appearance than her usual innocence, but even then she didn't seem evil nor violent, she always had that image of sweetness and purity around her, maybe why so many tried to take advantage of her, use her for corruption. Though thankfully Allie had managed to escape each time safely, perhaps with a small cut here and there, the worst injury she ever sustained being that of a Rottweiler’s bite on her hind leg, it had healed in time, and she learned never to trust others too quickly, for every time she did, they only let her down in the end anyways.
** Roseate tongue swiped over her chops to clean it up, the maiden liked being sanitary, and let out a small woof as she protectively watched the adorable Boston Terrier romp his way out of the den, out into the open where he buried the bones of their prey, her tail waggling at that as she did the same out of respect for the targets that had kept them alive for another diurnal cycle. Her floppy audits perked as she did so, letting out a giggle, then stretching her bodice once more before going into the sunlit world, blinking a bit to adjust her vision, feeling the child take his place beside her as she looked down at him with a kind expression. His next words made her blush lightly, for she was a humble Presa Canario mix, never taking compliments well, for she didn't think she deserved them, and Allison bumped his cranium with her snout lightly, murmuring out, “And when I look at you, dear Scooter, I see a blessing.” She was being honest, for before this, the dame had been quite lonely, so at least now she had another soul to speak to, and with that, the domino mutt wagged her tassel and then ushered for him to follow her, trying to search for some source of water, inquiring the child, “What do you like to do for fun?” If she was going to be taking care of him, she might as well get to know the male a bit better, correct?
