A P P E A R A N C E Desdemona is petite, even for a female of her breed, and slightly underweight. Her features are neat and trim; small ears, small eyes, a short but dense coat, and tidy little feet. Her petiteness and symmetry may make Des attractive to some, but she is nothing out of the ordinary as far as feminine wiles. Her body is white for the most part with silver shading down her back and across her face. The silver of her mask frames complete heterochromic eyes--the left eye is a deep chocolate brown and the right a snowy blue. There is faint auburn shading present on Desi's ears and tail as well.

P E R S O N A L I T Y Desdemona is primarily loyal, to a fault. Because of this particular characteristic of her nature she has developed a very protective side. It doesn't cause her to snap unnecessarily but it does mean that she cannot easily let go of things or people close to her; she is often touchy and/or overprotective. When she loves, she loves with all of herself and she's deeply wounded when that love isn't returned or is returned no longer.
As she would like others to learn all they can about her before advancing, she extends the same consideration to strangers. She isn’t the sort of dog to charge, teeth-bared. She is much more intellectual--or rather, she tries to be. Desdemona can draw basic and reliable conclusions, and is by no means stupid, but she is no genius. Her ability to understand what is happening and immediately put it to use is the only area where her mental ability truly excels; she cannot memorize, she cannot make sense of other dogs, and often lacks finer social capabilities, tending to say what comes to mind (though she understands basic body language). She is blunt, aloof, and often difficult to relate to.
Her usually serious demeanour is shed only in the presence of pups; they are her joy in life. There is really no way to predict Desdemona’s reaction to anything except to say that (unless provoked) it will not be aggressive. She is a creature of instinct and reaction.

H I S T O R Y Desdemona is the result of a culmination of several years' hard work in breeding. Her father, chosen for his exemplary pedigree, was flown to Saddle Creek to be bred to her mother, a titled show dog. Pasha, her mother, fled into the forest days before the birth of her pups for reasons best known to her. Her father was taken from them only days after the birth (and death) of Desi's siblings. Her survival was no miraculous choosing or feat of great bravery--she was just lucky enough not to fall ill with the rest of the litter.
Pasha cared for her daughter for quite some time (almost a year, as it were) before giving in to her own, more selfish desires and running home to her master who she apparently felt some guilt for leaving. She left her pup to care for herself, but by that time Des was more than old enough. Desi herself was far feral by that time to be tempted back to her unknown master's house--and it was empty in any event, the occupants having left some time ago.
