ALIAS: Mockingbird.
A.K.A: Mock, Birdy
GENDER: Female.
AGE: One year, two months
BREED: [Flat Coated Retriever] x [Australian Shepherd]
DESIRED PACK: None.
APPEARANCE:(As a pup.)
Mockingbird is a little black ball of fat, and could easily be confused for a bear cub if not for her white markings. Her legs are very short at this stage, and she waddles around like a quadrupedal penguin. Heck, she even looks like one with her dark ash coat and white socks! On her toes are small black speckles, which may turn in to full on ticking when she grows older.
(As an adult.)
Unlike her siblings, Mockingbird didn't end up looking like her father. She is a softer, smaller version of her mother, her appearance leaning toward her retriever blood more than anything. The mutt stands 24 inches at the shoulder, and weighs 55 pounds. She has a medium length muzzle, with a round head, like that of an english labrador. Two folded ears appear on each side of her head, and have a slight crimped look to the fur around their bases. Her build is tall and slender, with lots of muscle, yet only light toning. Four long legs carry her around, built for speed and agility. Her tail is long and wide, like the classic otter tail, with slight feathering. Her coloring is simple, really. Her coat is dark ash, almost black in appearance, that darkens in the winter. She has a white muzzle and white stockings on her front legs, while only her toes are white in the back, with medium black ticking covering them. Her chest has a large white shield over it, unaffected by the ticking. The same goes for her white tail tip. Her coat is thick and waterproof, but is soft and sleek to the touch. It lays mostly straight. Her eyes are a brown and green mixture of hazel, with a slight aqua tint and gold flecks around the pupil.
» coming towards her struck no turning back ;
PERSONALITY:adorkable & curious & daredevil & short-tempered & awkward & clever & feisty & tomboy
? adorkable ;Despite how much she'll deny it, there's no doubting that Mock can be a bit of a nerd at times. She'll go off about topics she studies in what seems like a college lecture. If she doesn't catch herself or get brushed off by another canine, there's no telling how long she'll go on. She's very intelligent, diligent in her studies, and can figure out problems and puzzles with ease. One of Mock's greatest interests is the creature after which she was named: the bird. She is fascinated by flight, and has done everything in her power so far to study these wonderful creatures. Her dream is to one day be able to fly herself, but she has come to the crushing realization that her greatest aspiration is impossible. Nevertheless, she tends to be drawn toward anything that can simulate flight.
? curiosity killed the cat ;Ever the curious creature, Mockingbird can be a little too much to handle at times. Show her something new, and she'll ask every question she can think up, just so she can know as much as possible about it. Her desperation to learn has led her to become a bit of a daredevil. She's done many crazy things in the name of her studies, from seeing if she could land from a high altitude on to a lily pad, to seeing if she could befriend a bear. She's been very lucky so far, and one can only hope she stays out of trouble.
? short tempered ;Mockingbird has a short temper at times, leading her to snap more than she'd like to. She's an impatient creature, and when something starts to annoy or bother her, it can eat away at her slowly, leading to a meltdown.
? feisty ;Tying in with her short temper, picking up her mother and aunt's attitudes was only natural. If you don't mean much to her, she can come off as a rude "female dog", if you catch my drift. She'll have a thousand smart remarks available at all times, every word will be sarcastic, and she'll try her hardest to get away from you.
? awkward;It seems that everyone in her small family got blessed with charm, suave, and confidence. All except for Mock. She can be incredibly dense at times, so when she finally notices she's being flirted with, she'll clam up and make unintelligible noises. She'll laugh a lot, too, and pretty much make herself look like a blabbering fool. She wants so desperately to be able to talk to those she feels a spark with, but just can't bring herself to do it.
? fragile ;Growing up in a broken home, as the outcast of her siblings both physically and mentally, Mock has a few screws loose in her head. Her sister, Cash, was always telling her what a nerd or dork she was, and while she may have been just teasing, the way her sister said these remarks at times was a little too much for Mock to handle. She's majorly insecure, and feels the need to shut up and sit back when in a conversation. The tiniest insult or stab at her appearance/personality can break the retriever mix's heart without much trouble. Because of her low self-worth, she finds herself clinging to any source of intimacy, affection, or even just plain kindness she can find. Because of this complete dependence on uplifting words and actions, Mockingbird can be very easily manipulated into doing most things if she's attached to the manipulator.
