:Name:
Captain Nemo.
-Nicknames-
Cappy, Nemo.
:Age:
3 years old.
:Breed:
Border Collie.
:Gender:
Female.
:Sexuality:
Undetermined.
:Appearance:
-fur-
Nemo's fur is long and silky, and with the absence of a proper groomer, has become matted in some places. Despite this, she is furiously determined to keep herself clean and looking her absolute best. Her markings are a deep mahogany red, but in some regions are broken by lighter patches of red.
-eyes-
Nemo lacks the traits responsible for heterochromia, and instead her eyes are both a lovely, rich amber.
-build-
Scrappy and scrawny, Nemo is extremely light and built to run. Her body is padded with thin layers of ropy muscle and she is extremely flexible--for a pup.
:Personality:
-optimistic-
The eternal optimist, Nemo hardly ever let's anything get her down. The difficult times are just challenges, which she believes are meant to be overcome with endless zeal and a smile.
-social-
Nemo is a creature who thrives on interaction--with people or other pups (nowadays, of course, it's usually just pups). She's extremely approachable and strives to make friends with most everyone. What she doesn't seem to understand, though, is that this tendency to befriend anyone who passes her by may lead to some negative consequences.
-naivety-
Trying to see the good in everyone and everything isn't always a positive thing. Her quickness to trust and believe has led to hurt feelings multiple times, but because of her naive personality, she has difficulty learning from those mistakes.
-gentle-
Nemo is a lover--not a fighter. While she does love to play and wrestle, she will never engage another dog in combat outside of play. This gentle facet of her personality also allows to be a great listener and sympathizer, but she may be intimidated by the prospect of either physically or verbally defending her friends.
:History:
Born into a litter of four pups (including herself) headed by one strong mother, Captain Nemo had a blessed and pampered puppy-hood. She lived on a cattle ranch with her three brothers and mother, and spent much time with her mother learning how to properly herd the livestock. Learning under the guidance of her mother and the praise of her human masters, Captain Nemo quickly became renowned by everyone in her small social bubble for her herding prowess.
So, where did that odd name come from?
Well, managing the ranches's operations was a small human family, composed of one mother, one father, and one son. Being extremely outgoing and social, Captain Nemo quickly became the son's favorite puppy.
In honor of his father's favorite character from literature, the son named her Captain Nemo and the name stuck.
The two were practically inseparable. They spent their days together wrapped in the glories of nature and their love for each other--but good things don't last forever.
When the drought came, with little money and resources, the family was forced to move. At the time of the move, Nemo had been sleeping, tucked away in the dusty barn where, as it turned out, no one was able to find her. Without time to spare looking for her, the family moved on.
To this day, she has no hard feelings against her family and old masters--she just misses her old companion dearly.
