What's this? Rexxy is hosting a writing contest? Whoa!!
That's right! I'm hosting a writing contest in searching of the best author in my eyes! Now, I'm extremely picky when it comes to stories and there will be a few themes. You can only join ONE theme and multiple entries will be denied unless you withdraw your entries and leave only one for me to judge. There will be three rounds in total, of which people will keep getting shortlisted till the final round. Each round will have different themes for you to choose from.
The shortlisting is like this: Competing round- All to 10. Round ONE - 10 to 5. Round TWO - 5 to 3. Round THREE - 3 to 1.
Prizes are as follow:
Third Place! - Season of Writing Badge and 5,000FK
Second Place! - Season of Writing Second Place Badge and 10,000FK
First Place! - Season of Writing First Place Badge and 20,000FK!
Rules.
- You are only allowed to enter ONE theme and only ONCE per round. You may edit your story till the day of judging but you are not allowed to change themes once you have picked the theme you wish to work on without permission. If you wish to change the theme of choice, you must withdraw the story in the old theme you submitted in.
- I am the only judge in this contest so please do not ask.
- Please stick by the themes given. Off-topic themes will be marked down.
- Please make your story at least 1,500 words unless otherwise stated. You can leave a WIP till judging day but any stories below 1,500 words will be IGNORED.
Judging criteria.

- Captivating and interesting?

- Grammar
- Developed and well planned?
- On or off topic? (Does the story stray too far from the provided theme?)

There can be as many applicants in the Contesting Round. Your job for the contesting round is to follow the below given theme and write a short 500-1,000 word intro to a story. 10 contestants will be selected and notified that you have moved on to the next round. You have exactly 1 week to make your entry and submit it.

And this is what I have so far.
... 'cause your my king,
and i'm your lionheart...
The words had always kept him going. Always spoke to him, challenged him, pushed him further. The inside of the glass had been long scrapped up by his now dulled paws as his strength diminished quickly. There was almost no hope left for the young creature.
A blemish in the world perfected by humans, as well as destroyed. He had blank gray eyes with no pupil yet he could see better then anything before him. Ears overly large as if they grew too much, with tufts of fur lining the sides and top. The muscle at the base keeping them perked consistently bulged out slightly.
The name bestowed upon this mildly dangerous creature, by humans, was Experiment AJS. The letters themselves meant nothing, even to them. Just a mix but to him, and a dear friend, they meant the whole world.
He knew nothing else but those three capital letters. AJS. The one who granted him such characters had long been gone. Killed before his own 'childrens' eyes. His children being all the special creatures he created. His love pouring directly into each one, even if it were enough to literally kill him, which happened to be.
As for the meaning to the creature itself, they stood for a name. A unique name, and completely to him and no one else.
Abu Jes Som.
Most would deem him with the basic canine, or feline names but he was no such thing. Abu was but a mutant of many things. Rodents, Fish, Birds, you name it, it is in his genetic make up for sure. He was nothing humans had even laid eyes on, and now they never would. The lab was dusty and clearly abandoned, shut down by sheer neglect of his creator's species.
As for Abu's coloration, he was made of strictly earthy tones, made purely for the art of survival. Greens, browns, dusty reds, and blacks laced his small build like that of spilt ink, blotching his sides, underbelly, neck, and face. Though there was something special about him that made him stand out. Parts of his tail glow so intensely, they burned human eyes like the sun. The color a sickening neon green so acidic looking you wouldn't dare touch it.
But, after all the time spent in this vat, being created from one-celled organisms, Abu had longed to escape and greet his creator. For no, he wasn't a monster, but a being whom only wanted to love, and be loved, which made it increasingly hard to stay alive around humans. Because what humans fear, they destroy.
Abu's life was always hard even when he was encased in a thick glass case, or vat as they called it. No one ever thought about escape and it appeared no one ever did. But, since everyone was gone, now was their chance!
Flicking his long glowing tail, his blank eyes drifted down towards the control panel connected to every vat. It was full of flashing lights at one time but now it was dust, debris, dead skin, cobwebs, and who knows what else. The square buttons were stiff and if you pressed hard enough on one, it would get stuck and never resurface. The bulbs under the plastic never blinked since they had long burned out and new he was left here.
As stated before, no one ever escaped.
