The wind danced across the valley, slightly swaying the dried up grass to and fro, brushing it against the monochrome pelt that cloaked the young canine maneuvering through the unfamiliar turf. Niamh slipped through the broken fence, looking out in the large square used primarily for grazing animals. She sighed sadly, bowing her head. She refused to believe her humans abandoned her. She knew they were in trouble, but they loved her, didn't they? They wouldn't let anyone hurt her, she wouldn't let anyone hurt them, she had been a good dog right? She stayed outside and only came in when told, she didn't nip at the horses or attack the cattle, she was gentle with her younger humans and loved them unconditionally... so what went wrong? She longed to see their old, rusty pick up rumble up the drive way. She longed to travel on the cattle drive, to make her humans proud of her. Niamh glanced up at the pasture before her, remembering the horses that would charge across the enclosed area, how they grazed and played.
She wanted to go home, hoping they would be there and hug her, asking where she had gone and that they were sorry for letting that man take her and trying to leave her. Niamh sat on her hind, reminiscing in her glory days. She was young, but she felt like she had been traveling a thousand years, trying to track down her family but coming across this abandoned town. She had seen a few dogs here and there, which didn't surprise her in the slightest, but she was alone for the most part. When she came here, she hoped for humans to still inhabit it, maybe one of them had known her humans and they would be reunited... but after seeing they had all gone god knows where, she'd given up. Niamh sighed once more, looking up at the clear sky. Another problem bothered her. On her travels, where crops should have been, weren't. They were dead and there weren't any grazing animals roaming their pastures, they were either carcasses or skeletons.
Rain had not fallen, she was getting dehydrated, the land was dehydrated. Niamh only felt the bearing heat that engulfed her, but god forbid a trickle of water.

Water, a liquid needed to survive, one that merely fell from the sky. However, here in the dusty little town of Saddle Creek rain was nothing but a myth, it rarely propelled itself from dark clouds that scattered above, therefore dehydration was something to get used to around this area. Ghiya had only been in the metropolis for a couple years, though it was not the most difficult task to map the areas most sought during summer droughts. Closing the thin lid over each amber void as the cool aqua slid down her throat with ease, satisfying her monstrous thirst that was practically eating her alive in such heat radiating from the sun which shined brightly above her muscular frame, illuminating the orange tint that covered her body in large patches. Only a small stream cascaded through the large ranch, which meant there would be more canines there, unless they were new to the area, then they were most likely lost, wandering throughout the residence with a deadly weight of dehydration settled on their shoulder. With the inability to help these stupid souls, Ghi settled her mind simply on keeping no one but herself alive in these conditions.
Perhaps it would be more of a rational decision if the pit bull mix would go back towards pack lands, to the Mafia in which she so happened to be second in command. Though the Mafia was small, it was larger than the rest in Colorado, this fact brought the girl much pride, however being a ruler was not as satisfying as she thought it would be. Without any wars or chaos settling within their turf, nothing was happening other than everyday life, something that happened to everyone, everywhere no matter the rank each individual settled at. With her thirst finally quenched Ghiya started back home, wind hardly blowing in her favor, bringing in all sorts of scent, with only one catching her particular interest. Fresh meat, a new female in town by scent, though sometimes her nose defied the solid stance as far as physical abilities. With a slight growl the possessive female marched towards Mafian territory with nothing but a stoic expression plastered upon her maw as she neared the newest settler to her knowledge. Finally, a tri colored canine appeared in front of her, quite close to her surprise. Since her personality was basically that of a male, Ghi often found herself switching things around and creating a friendly act in order to draw attention towards the pack only if the stranger seemed physically fit, like this one, unless competition was in the picture.
"Hello~" un-amused vocal chords sprung without emotion, clear as day though slightly fogged by the humidity which was drafting in the summer air, as well as the distance gone untraveled between them in order to display no threat in the greeting. As gorgeous as the female from out of town was, there was no chance she would be asking her to trail along towards her home, however she seemed as though she would be worth a decent conversation. Unless she got too out of hand, then everything would be flipped and Ghiya would have no choice but call for back up to rid the devils in this town. Now all she had to do was sit back, relax, and watch the petals fall.

Niamh hadn't heard another dog approaching, being aloof to her surroundings whilst her mind whisked her away to the old days, to happiness. When the other made herself known, Niamh nearly jumped out of her fur, getting on all fours and spinning around quickly. She stood to her full height, she wasn't trying to be intimidating or start a fight, but she wanted the other to get a good look at who she would be dealing with if the other thought it was going to come down to teeth and claws, because she wasn't in the mood to give a few good scars and perhaps get some in return. But she was too weak to fight, she hadn't had water in days. The clouds weren't being generous with their 'crops', she didn't know why they didn't fall but all she knew was that she hated clouds. Their selfish ways this last year had caused her life to fall apart.
It took the female a minute to realize the other had spoken to her, she relaxed her tense muscles slightly, still on alert and reading the terra-cotta female's body language, "Hello." She responded in an equally monotone voice, unsure of this dog. She wasn't very trustworthy of others dogs, especially when the strays back home use to try and steal her human's chickens... and the dogs here seemed like they would do exactly that, steal others food. Food they worked hard to get, that took days to find, especially in this weather. She hadn't stopped to eat, maybe a field mice or two along the way, but it was dog eat dog world now, only the strongest survived and Niamh, was very strong.

It was obvious to the patched female that this girl had been shocked by the presence of another, therefore it made her mind question the abilities for this particular stranger as far as mentality. As far as physical capabilities, there was no doubt she could do damage with a tall, muscular frame that she had, unlike the mutt who was short and stout, built with layer after layer of pure muscle, bred to fight, bred to win. Throughout this mist of chaos, the Native American Dog appeared to not even register that Ghiya had spoken to her, which meant an answer took much too long in her opinion, however the answer itself was much to her liking, answered in the same town as the original. "Thirsty?" Her question was so obvious it struck herself as annoying which only gave another rant between her and herself for later on. Narrowing her eyes to block out the glaring sun, looking around "Follow me before you die of dehydration and heat" rolling those amber voids and trotting back in the original direction, trying to ignore the massive amount of flies buzzing around her head with the mere mention of death, of course the girl had to be utterly blunt with the choice of words in order for the stranger to trust the second in command of the mafia, of course she did not know this information about Ghiya. Sighing once again and turning to face the girl with a blank face "I'm Ghiya" saving the non important information based on her rank in society for a later date when trust developed between the two. Perhaps she was a spy from a rival pack therefore it would do nothing to put a target on the vixen's back and also bring the enemy into the territory.
