Background, The eldest daughter had picked up the small puppy from the birthing box, where his mother had been found, dead and cold. "Fiuntach," she murmured under her breath, lifting the wiggling pup closer to her, as if she was prosenting a secret to the frail pup. "Fiuntach," she repeated again this time more clearly stated to the puppy, "It means worthy, or worthy one. I'm sure it will suit you well." Soon after the secret was passed, he was handed off and was taken to a different home, then set down with a litter of German Shepherd Dogs, about the same age as he -- two weeks. Never forgetting the name she presented to him, Fiuntach.
Fiuntach, or Achley, as his step-siblings and nurse mother came to call him, grew accustomed to the life of being an 'outsider' in the litter. He was always the last for everything, and was deemed unfit to play in their games of wrestle, and tag. That didn't bug him that much, because when they ignored him he would find his loving company, Hagen. Hagen was the breeder of the snotty and rude shepherds, but Achley looked beyond that mistake of Hagen. If it was for Hagen and his shepherd litter, Achley would have been put down. So, he thanked him everyday for his life.? ? ?
