bristol is the perfect example of her breed standards. long, lean, and lithe, bristol stands 24 inches at her shoulder and her entire body weighs just 45 pounds and anywhere from 45 to 55 pounds soaking wet. she’s not exactly a large dog, as her slight frame would suggest. her shoulders and hips are quite slender, not exactly the brawn of most of her family. like the classic collie, her skull is wedge-like with erect ears upon the top of her crown, each folding over at the tip of the ear.

she has a classic collie coat, thick and doubled, mostly a mixture of warm mahogany, tan, chocolate shades, and spots of siena in there too. her body is a mixture of tan, cream, and lighter shades of brown. her face is red brown, surrounded by a mixture grey-browns, the tips a deep mahogany and chocolate. she has a thick white “collar” around her neck that leads down her chest to cover part of her stomach. large almond shaped chocolate portals finish the look.


**personality --

bristol is a all around sweetheart; she adores being around others, learning how to act around them. she’s the type of dog who’ll invite you in, no matter what. she’s the one to get stabbed in the back because she tried too hard to love. she wants to mend the broken hearts and it’s hard not to love her because of how innocent and naive she can be. she tends to fall into toxic relationships and while it’ll never show in her lifetime, it might end up breaking her spirit some day. bristol is far too naive, far too innocent to survive in this life she’s living right now. she’s the kind of dog who’ll give her soul to the devil if it meant she was letting someone else live. she’s clueless in all senses of the word; she can survive, yes, but when it comes to anything else, she hasn’t got a clue. she’s an anti-social girl, but not on purpose. she tries to be friendly, but because she wasn’t exactly socialized when she was young and was basically told to avoid strangers at all costs by kodiak and carlyle before they left, she didn’t go out of her way to meet and interact with other dogs. so, basically, she’s a socially awkward little mess of a sweetheart who tries her best but tends to be a bit of a clutz and sometimes says the wrong thing.


**history --

bristol is a rarity. she was born purebred on the streets from a pair of two escaped show dogs. she was born across the street from her parents’ former home and left on their doorstep. the owners had a litter of 8 on their hands and because they weren’t exactly good owners, she and three other puppies were packed into a crate and sent out west. one pup was discovered and adopted by a young cowboy as a present for his bride and their young daughter. the other three weren’t found and so, they were put in the back of the store. they managed, as they were eight weeks and even though they were just pups, they had some common sense. they named themselves after things they found in the storage room, she was bristol after a local company’s logo, her brother was named kodiak after one of the baker’s goods, and her younger sister was Carlyle after one of the young woman who frequented the shop.

they were discovered after a few months of hiding, eating what they could. they were adopted by families, until the dust storms started and the families they were living with moved. they were forced to become strays and they tried to stay together, but kodiak was far too adventurous and so he took off a few weeks after they became strays. carlyle wanted to stay with her sister, but it proved too hard as carlyle was fierce and dominant and often times insulted her sister about how weak she was. so, she left. just disappeared one night. bristol has since continued to wander alone, looking for her siblings.
