Name: Hotshot's Stormy Blue
Gender: Male
Age: 1 1/2
Breed: Border Collie
Appearance: Blue is an attractive blue merle Border Collie. He weighs in at about 35 pounds and stands about 20 inches tall at the shoulder. He has a sleek coat and slim, fit body to go along with it. His soft eyes are a mix, one ice blue and one brown/grey. His nose is a cute pink and black spotted mess, something he finds horrifying, but most find it quite funny. His coat is incredibly soft and the white parts are snowy as can be. All four legs and half of his tail are white, with a white blaze and collar to go along also. The rest of him is a beautiful blue merle. He thinks it is just perfect, definitely blue not grey, and just the right amount of black speckles all over it. His unique looks make him quite full of himself. (144)
looks like this
Personality: Smart, active, can be sneaky, loves to play, has a soft side for females and close friends. He's never really aggressive unless it is needed but he can come off as shy or rude at times. It may take him a while to warm up with his reserved nature, but he really just wants a forever friend. He can tend to be hyper active, and is extremely intense. He's a classic border collie, when he is focused on something there is no tearing him away from it. He loves herding, as that's what he was trained to do, but he tends to not have any patience at all for dumb animals, and so he lost his job at this. He's friendly with other dogs, but views most as just working friends, and has never grown close to anybody. With his aloof nature he tends to be a loner, but he loves girls and always tries his best to make them happy. He loves to swim and run, but when he isn't doing that he is an all around couch potato who loves to cuddle. (184)
History: There's a reason Blue has such a fancy name. He came from a professional, high class breeder, who breeds specifically for working BC's. He had a decent life as a pup, he stayed with his mom and 4 sister's for months. But after that he was sold to a trainer who wanted a quality herding dog. He pushed Blue too far and too fast, often scaring him. Blue's aloof nature comes from this, and he tends to be terrified of men. He tried his best to learn and do the right things, but that wasn't always possible...sheep don't often cooperate when they are supposed to. His life here ended when he bit one one day. He was pushed around and smacked a few times and spent the next weeks in a kennel next to a few other dogs. Then, he was sent to another home with a small family and their three young kids. Besides going nuts because of the limited exercise, he was quite fed up with the screaming young kids. Blue is such a sensitive dog that it drove him crazy, and their pulling on his long coat was painful, to the point where one day he nipped at one. This landed him in the shelter, his final chance. After that he was adopted out to a older, single gentlemen who did his best to work with Blue and bring him back around. Because he was so high strung, he couldn't be placed in a home with small kids, and definitely not a rookie dog owner. All of his bad experiences left a mental scar with him. They may not have been extremely traumatizing compared to other stories, but for him and his sensitive soul, he didn't trust anyone much anymore. When the old man died, Blue was left alone, and found his way to SC where he tries his best to forget his old past, but it doesn't always work. Nightmares often find him even now.
