History:
Gender: Male
Age: 3 Years
Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback
Appearance:
Powerfully built, muscular and tall - Raeburn is a big dog. Not like the giant breeds, however, he is well put together and capable of great physical ability. A handsome, rugged male covered in a deep red, his head is blocked, his jaws strong and his limbs sturdy and thick. Coated in short, fine fur, he has a ridge of hair that lies in the opposite direction up his back - a sign of his breed. Deep, honey eyes look out upon the world with a calm, quiet acceptance. There is a draw to him and the energy that surrounds him is easy going and kind.
Personality:
Easy going and mellow, Raeburn takes no offense and generally is not offensive himself. He adapts to changes and challenges easily, though he prefers company - he can survive on his own. Many are drawn to him for his non judgmental nature and he is very rarely serious. Harboring a sincere and genuine love for females, he is respectful and does not truly fall in love easily. Playful but calm, he is an extremely helpful sort. Despite his warmth, there is a certain distance he keeps from those he counts as companions. He holds his own secrets, though he rarely shows bitterness or sadness.
History:
Raeburn grew up with a constant companion at his side. She was older, a mixed breed that had wandered alone her entire life. From the moment Raeburn was old enough to walk, his very first trip outside, he saw her - and he never forgot her.
He grew up with his siblings, but he always kept watch for the stray. When he came around the age of 6 months - his brothers and sister re-homed to different families - he finally met her. Raiding their trash can, he cornered her one night and through the tension of that touchy meeting, a spark was created. She was older than he by more than two years. Nonetheless, a bond formed and it was not long until he saw her again.
Their meetings grew more frequent until, one day, she asked him to live with her - instead of the cushy life he currently led. He agreed without a second thought, feeling far more loyalty to she than his humans. Away they went and shortly after, the world was dusted over. Separated in the storms, when Raeburn finally found her again she had been through hell. Thirsty, hunger and weak from exhaustion, Raeburn cared for her but she did not last long.
After the death of his companion, he moved on as he knew he had to - wandering this new world.
