Elijah may have the build of a kelpie, but his short pelt shows his blue heeler bloodlines. His fur is blue merle, a dapple mix of blue, grey and black, though there is an instance of tan brown on his legs. He has two specific black patches over his eyes surrounded by blue fur, giving the instance of a mask and personifying his mischievous personality quite well. Taking after his mother, Elijah's build is made for work, being slender and light. His head and paws contain the stockiness of a blue heeler and in his young age Elijah still finds himself tripping over his large feet. He was built for speed rather than strength and has long, wiry muscles and thin, long limbs built for running and herding of animals, specifically cattle though that skill can no longer be applied on such creatures.
Personality:
Elijah, being still young is a bit of a flight risk. He's a dreamer at heart, spacey and usually not even paying attention to what is in front of him. That being said, if he's being bribed or finds a reason to actually be focused, this little guy can put his one-track mind to use in a more positive way. Elijah loves to play the hero, it's actually his dream to one day save a real live damsel in distress. However he's rather dopey and it's often himself that finds himself in need of saving, so when he does attempt to play the heroics and help someone out, he has a better chance of making it worse. He's rather adorable in his naive cuteness, though his gullibility can be so obvious and glaringly stupid that it's annoying.
History:
Elijah was born on a farm to two regular working dogs in a litter of three. They were born at a rather inconvenient time, in the endings of Winter and so food and especially mother's milk. He was born with a third sibling Rajan, who unfortunately died within his first two months of life, stumbling outside when he was still young and being collected by a fox in the fields. After that both Shakyra and Nyron both became even more protective of their two remaining pups who grew up always watched and coddled way too much. This is what perhaps led to Elijah's naive personality, not knowing anything of the real world. However the impressed idea of protection and specifically that of his sister also led to his hero complex, so it wasn't completely faulty.
When he was a year old his mother left for a hunt and never returned. After a week of worrying, his father went in search of them and left Elijah in charge of the farm and his sister. He didn't return either. While the two siblings fretted over their return, neither ventured out in search of their parents, both from fear and a heavily impressed need for obedience. While Tias pushed for them to leave and search for their parents, Elijah forbid it. To this day it was a decision he regrets, as one morning he awoke to find Tias gone. While he assumed it was in search of their parents, there was no way to tell. At that time he was forced out of his home, unable to stay any longer with all the memories lying around. He began searching for Tias, as he still felt he owed her protection.
It was by chance he stumbled upon the rotting, half eaten remains of his father. There was no sign of his mother, his father was barely recognizable, it was ripped trace of the bandana his father had always worn around his neck that assured his identity. Tias's scent was not around but there were traces of his mother, leading Elijah to conclude that she too was dead, and that Tias had yet to find them. So leaving behind their bodies, Elijah continued his search for his sister in solitude, determined to find and protect her.Family Ties
